The Southern Boone Area YMCA is excited to partner with the Jr. NBA to provide a recreational basketball league for boys and girls grades 1st – 4th. This league is great for beginner to intermediate players. Coaches will put an emphasis on learning fundamentals and having fun while following the curriculum of the Jr. NBA. *This league will be a draft process, head coach and assistance coaches kids will be on the same team.
GRADES: 1st – 4th
1st & 2nd will be co-ed, unless there are an even number of boys & girls registered
3rd & 4th will be split into boys and girls
SEASON: January 13th – February 17th
GAME DAYS: Saturdays
GAME TIMES: 1st/2nd grade will start at 8 a.m.
3rd/4th will follow after all 1st/2nd grade games have concluded
LOCATION: Southern Boone Elementary Gymnasiums
FEE: $50 Y-Member/$75 Non-member
The YMCA is able to provide financial assistance to those who are unable to pay the stated fees for membership and youth sports and programs. The amount of financial assistance is dependent upon the financial need and household size. Please make sure all required documentation is turned in with the application to avoid a delay in processing.

What the player receives:
- Jr. NBA/WNBA Reversible Team Jersey
JR. NBA SKILLS CONTEST
- February 17th: 1st/2nd starts at 8 a.m. & 3rd/4th starts at 11 a.m.
- Players will compete for the best skills in shooting, dribbling and defense
- Teams will compete for best overall dunk scores
COACHES MEETING
Our program relies on volunteer coaches. All coaches will be required to attend a coaches meeting prior to the season. The meeting will be held November 21st at 6:30 p.m. in Lee & Sherri Wilbers Group Exercise Room.
