Southern Boone Schools Stay Active

MAY 4TH – JULY 5TH

Hello Southern Boone Students!

We are beginning a program that will help give you and your family some fun activities to do during quarantine. We hope this will motivate you to stay active. We will be providing a pre and post assessment containing 7 or 8 questions that you will take before you start and when you finish this 9-week program.

What would a program be without prizes? We will be handing out Apple Air Pods to ONE student in EACH grade who participates! You MUST complete the minimum requirements to be eligible for the drawing. These will include:

  1. Take the initial assessment
  2. Watch and participate in at least ONE YMCA workout video EVERY WEEK
  3. Track at least 150 minutes of exercise EVERY WEEK
  4. Turn your logs in by:
    • Download .PDF, print, and fill out.
    • Download and fill out Excel Document
    • You can email the documents to cvaughan@jcymca.org or bring to Colin Vaughan at the YMCA.
  5. Take the final assessment

 I will give thorough directions below on the steps you will take:

TO START:

  1. Take the initial assessment for the grade you are CURRENTLY in (2019-2020).
  2. Download the Student Activity Log to track your physical activity over the next 9 weeks. The dates will be provided, and you will put the activity you did and the amount of time (in minutes) you were doing that activity.

EACH WEEK:

  1. Watch and perform the weekly YMCA exercise video
  2. Track your physical activity every day in your student log

AT THE END:

  1. Take the final assessment for the grade you are CURRENTLY in (2019-2020).
